NEW AVENGERS TRAILER  - RUSSIAN WITH NEW FOOTAGE

A new Russian 'Avengers' trailer was released with new footage. For you 'Avengers' aficionados, here is some spoiler information courtesy of Total Film and see the new trailer below:

(Spoilers)

Well, according to MovieWeb, the HeroClix line of Avengers toys may have given away another of the film's big baddies.

According to a press release, Thor and Captain America will be battling Loki and… the Red Skull.

The scarlet-visaged Nazi evaporated at the end of Captain America: The First Avenger, so depending on where he ended up, it's quite possible he could be coming back (did he get teleported to Asgard?)

Or, is it merely a ploy by the toy company to make it a more fairly matched fight between heroes and villains? Hugo Weaving has never officially been linked to The Avengers, so it's all speculation at the moment.

MTV LISTS SWATH AT #3 MOST ANTICIPATED FILM OF 2012

Universal

MTV lists their top 5 Most Anticipated Films of 2012  and SWATH comes in at #3.

MTV writes:

We all know the story of "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs," but this movie puts a whole new spin on the traditional fairy tale. As we saw in the first trailer for the film, Kristen stars as a fierce warrior version of Snow. She's a tomboy fighter (not some primped princess) trained to rebel against the Evil Queen, who ordered her dead at the hands of the titular Huntsman, played by the smokin' hot Chris Hemsworth.

Charlize Theron, who plays the deliciously evil Queen, does wicked well (as we know from "Young Adult"), and we can't wait to see this whole thing come to fruition. The rich, dark colors and atmospheric music made for a tantalizing trailer—one of our favorites of the year, to be honest.

CAST MEMBER SPOTS THEATER POSTER!

How cool is it to be in a soon-to-be blockbuster and see the poster at a theater?  Well, one of Queen Ravenna's guards saw it and shared it via Twitter.

Duncan Casey, who will be play one of the Dark Army soldiers, tweeted this picture of himself under a SWATH poster.  It is definitely one of the best poster pictures we have seen so far.

SCREEN RANT SAYS SWATH IS A "REINTERPRETATION" TO LOOK FORWARD TO IN 2012

Universal

It always goes back to the teaser trailer released in November that is still the hook that caught the fish.  No matter what entertainment outlet writing about SWATH, that trailer is what got them on board.

Clearly the skepticism was apparent because when you hear Snow White, the first thing that comes to mind is a beautiful girl singing to forest animals while cleaning a house in technicolor.  But this version of Snow White is a far cry from the norm.

She leads the charge of an army while wielding a sword and shield to protect the lands.  Huh? Nope, no dancing around floating on air singing fa, la, la, la, la and everyone is taking notice.

Screen Rant gives us their take on the films that are "Remakes & Reboots: Upcoming Movies You’ve Seen Before" and lists SWATH as one of them.

Snow White and the Huntsman
Release Date: June 1, 2012

Director: Rupert Sanders (directorial debut)

Cast: Kristen Stewart, Chris Hemsworth, Charlize Theron, Ian McShane, Bob Hoskins, Toby Jones, Ray Winstone, Nick Frost, Sam Claflin

Category: Reinterpretation of the "Snow White" fairy tale.

Our take: Snow White and the Huntsman is a perfect example of how to win over a new audience with an old idea. Thanks to one fantastic trailer, this re-imagining of "Snow White" as a Lord of the Rings fantasy epic is now one of THE talked-about movies of summer 2012. Even though this is director Rupert Sanders' first feature-length film, the talents of the cast (particularly Oscar-winning actress Charlize Theron as the evil queen) and the overall aesthetic make SWATH look like a truly promising contender - as well as a worthy re-visit to an all-too-familiar tale.

Also mentioned is Chris Hemsworth's "Red Dawn" as a 1980's remake.

GOSSIP ROUND-UP: STEWART MAKES MORE YEAR-END LISTS

Summit

Kristen Stewart makes a few more year-ending lists.  Here are a couple:

The second most searched movie on Yahoo in 2011 was The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1. Yahoo states:

"Twi-hards made clear, the movie was nothing short of ah-mazing. The fourth film featured the wedding (sigh), with Bella and Edward tying the knot -- and real-life anticipation over the very secretive wedding dress, the romantic honeymoon, and the birth of the couple's baby sent fans to the Web and to the movie in droves."

Read the rest of the Top 10 searches here.

Allure places Stewart as one of the 6 Best Beauty Looks in Movies this year:

"Kristen Stewart in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn (Part 1). The usually bare-faced Bella Swan (Stewart) showed off her most done look yet when she walked down the aisle to marry her vamp love, Edward (played by Robert Pattinson). Stewart wore shimmery honey brown eyes, lots of lashes, and glossy peach lips. Her hair—a braided low do under a bejeweled veil—added a romantic finishing touch."

Stewart makes 2 out of Celebuzz's 50 Best Celebrity Photos of 2011

At #2, it was Stewart leaving the "Water for Elephant's" premiere and at #20 was the Grauman's Chinese Theater Handprint Ceremony:

Hand in Hand

"Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner's hand and footprints were cemented outside of Grauman's Theater in November, making for a memorable photo op."

See the rest of the photos here.

Cineplex lists its Top 10 Blockbusters of 2011.  SWATHERS made the list.  Coming in at #8 was Chris Hemsworth's "Thor".  Universal's "Fast Five" came in at #6 and Stewart's "Breaking Dawn" made the list at number 3:

#3 The Twilight Saga - Breaking Dawn Part 1

Studio: eOne

 Box office haul: $(US) 269M

Why it made big bucks: There's no real mystery here: Twilight is a beast so it's just best to get out of its way and let the ladies scream for their fave character.

We're just not going to get into how much of a condescending statement that makes to say that women go to see a movie to scream at the hottest guy.  Not that the story means anything.  'Bella' is not a guy.  Don't know if they realize that or not.

See the rest of their list here.

STEWART'S STYLE CONTINUES TO RECEIVE YEAR-END RECOGNITION

(Summit)

More year-end lists and accolades continue to roll in as we are featuring only a few of them because everyone has a list and an opinion regardless of how good or just plain ridiculous as they may be.

SWATH STARS SHINE IN A YEAR OF DISAPPOINTING BOX OFFICE

The Los Angeles Times is reporting a disappointing box office for Hollywood this year.  With the box office being propped up with 3D movies and a slight increase in ticket prices, the box office is expected to decrease 5.3 percent in 2011 as compared to 2010.

The LA Times also notes that 2010's box office was effected by the Avatar's hold over from 2009 which effected 2010's numbers.

However, there were some bright spots for SWATHERS this year.  Kristen Stewart's 'The Twilight Saga Breaking Dawn' will be #3 at the box office making at least $269 million, so far, in North America.

Universal's 'Bridesmaids' and Chris Hemsworth's 'Thor' were surprise hits and two of the bright spots at the box office this year as well.

CHRIS HEMSWORTH IS AN EW BREAKOUT STAR

Entertainment Weekly announced another year-ending list within their Best and Worst of 2011.  This time it is their 15 Breakout Stars of 2011 and Chris (The Huntsman) Hemsworth lands at #4.

#4 Chris Hemsworth (Thor)

He was days away from shooting the Marvel comic-book ensemble The Avengers last May when Thor — the movie that would introduce Chris Hemsworth as the titular superhero god — opened in theaters. Was he nervous? ''I could say I wasn't, but I'd be lying,'' laughs the 28-year-old Aussie. ''I had my fingers crossed, absolutely!'' Thor went on to gross a mighty $181 million, and suddenly the actor most remembered for his cameo as Captain Kirk's doomed father in J.J. Abrams' 2009 Star Trek reboot was a bona fide star. By the time The Avengers wrapped, Hemsworth had been cast in two major projects for 2012: Snow White and the Huntsman, opposite Kristen Stewart, and Ron Howard's Formula One racing drama Rush. Work kept Hemsworth so busy he almost forgot to enjoy himself. ''It's only now that I sit back from it and I go, 'Oh, wow!' '' he says.

FAREHAM COLLEGE STUDENTS WORKED ON SWATH SETS: NEW PICS

Here is a new photo of the students that worked on the SWATH set during production.

Nine Level 2 Hair and Media Makeup students from Fareham College had the honor of working on the set of SWATH. The students had the opportunity to learn and work alongside the professional makeup artists on set as well as with the actors (Kristen Stewart, Charlize Theron, Ray Winstone amongst others).  They were also tasked to keep onlookers off the set when filming commenced.

Sasha Flater, formerly of Mayville High School, commented: ‘It’s a stepping stone towards our careers. I couldn’t believe we were there. Now it feels like anything is possible.’

Cassie Webbe, a former Hamble Community Sports College student said: It’s getting our foot in the door.’

It sounds like the students had the opportunity of a lifetime and enjoyed every minute of it.

'THOR 2' MAY HAVE A NEW DIRECTOR

Finally 'Thor 2' fans can almost rest easy because the new director may be announced soon.

Deadline is reporting a rumor that Marvel has Alan Taylor on their short list to direct the next 'Thor' movie.  Taylor would be replacing Patty Jenkins after an adversarial departure, as we reported, from the production.

"Taylor is an accomplished TV director whose recent credits include Game of Thrones, Boardwalk Empire and Nurse Jackie."

We will report the official announcement once it is released. 'Thor 2' is set to be released November 15, 2013.

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY NAMES SWATH AS ONE OF THE BEST TRAILERS BUT STILL ISN'T SATISFIED

She runs through fire wielding a sword, rides  horseback in full armor leading an army to a fight, faces off with a huge creature and crawls over rocks running from something unknown to us at this time and it isn't enough to satisfy your curiosities that you need to hear her British accent too?  Why?  Just know that Snow White looks like she is going to kick butt and that is all you need to see. She isn't going to be singing to birds and cleaning the dwarfs house calling it a day type of gal. Geesh.

Entertainment Weekly names SWATHs teaser trailer as one of the best trailers of 2011.  However, we are trying to understand what is the overwhelming obsession with not hearing Kristen Stewart in the trailer?  First, Ted Casablanca of E! now EW...

From everything we've heard and read, Stewart's British accent is supposed to be pretty good.  Even her Twilight co-star, Robert Pattinson has said as much in a recent interview, and he would know since he is British.  Why do we have a feeling that they only want to hear it so they can criticize it? Hmm.

Well if anyone would take the time to utilize "Google", they can find interviews where Stewart uses a British accent.  That should satisfy any curiosity that YES, she can speak using a British accent.  You don't need to hear it in the trailer to know this. *sighs*

EW writes:

14. Snow White and the Huntsman

This could be the proof-of-concept moment for the whole action-remake-of-fairy-tales trend in Hollywood. Start the debate: Is the decision to feature zero dialogue from Kristen Stewart an intriguing artistic choice, or an indication that her reportedly British-y accent might be off-putting?

Nevertheless, SWATHs teaser trailer was released while the film was still in production and is still one of this year's best. If you want to watch it again and again, see it below on our page.

Here is the full list of EW's Best Trailers of 2011

COLLIDER NAMES SWATH AS ONE OF 'THE MOST ANTICIPATED BLOCKBUSTERS OF 2012'!

Get on board while you can before the train leaves the station.  Collider is clearly on board naming SWATH as one of next year's Most Anticipated Blockbusters.

They seem a little excited or a lot because in their haste they did not correctly identify the dwarfs.  Stephen Graham is not a dwarf and they are missing two: Harris and Gleeson.

You think we should tell them? *smiles*

Director: Rupert Sanders

Cast: Kristen Stewart, Chris Hemsworth, Charlize Theron, Sam Claflin, Noah Huntley, Nick Frost, Ray Winstone, Ian McShane, Bob Hoskins, Toby Jones, Eddie Marsan and Steven Graham

Release Date: June 1st, 2012

Why We’re Excited About It: While the idea of two Snow White movies wasn’t exactly the most appetizing thought, the first trailer for Snow White and the Huntsman was kind of badass. In his feature film debut, the first look at Rupert Sanders’ iteration of the classic story definitely took a lot of people by surprise; it’s much more Lord of the Rings than Alice in Wonderland. Charlize Theron is a delight any time she gets a meaty character to chew on, and she appears to be in fine form here as the Evil Queen. We haven’t seen much from Kristen Stewart yet, but turning Snow White into a sort of reluctant warrior is definitely an interesting direction. Sanders’ visuals are epic in scope, and I’m enticed to find out if this ambitious fairy tale delivers.
