KRISTEN STEWART & CHRIS HEMSWORTH ARE IMDB'S 'STARMETER TOP 10 SEARCHED STARS OF 2012'

Oh these two are just on a roll.  As the year-end lists keep coming out, here is an interesting one released by IMDb (Internet Move Data Base) regarding their 'Starmeter Top 10 of 2012'.  The list touts such names as Johnny Depp, Emma Stone, Tom Hardy and Christian Bale.

It lists the most searched stars on their site. "These STARmeter rankings were not based upon critical assessments or box-office performance but by the actual page views of the more than 160 million monthly unique users of IMDb.com and IMDb's leading mobile apps," according to IMDb.

Coming in at #3, Chris was "the highest-ranking Avenger" on the STARmeter list.  IMDb states, "the Aussie import brought muscle, gravitas, and deadpan humor to Joss Whedon's star-laden superhero flick, which just happened to be the biggest box office hit of the year. Add Snow White and the Huntsman along with The Cabin in the Woods and Red Dawn, and you have a year that was most definitely Hemsworth-friendly."

Kristen hit the list at #10, "the Twilight star made a vampire-free splash early in the year with a winning turn in Snow White and the Hunstman," according to IMDb.

MCSHANE PLAYS "BAD SANTA" IN THE 'AMERICAN HORROR STORY' CHRISTMAS EPISODE

ian mcshane american horror story

He has played many roles but a 'Bad Santa'? Ian McShane starred in a recent episode titled "Unholy Night" on the FX Channel's American Horror Story: Asylum. He played a "bloodthirsty St. Nick who wreaks havoc at the asylum," according to the Huffington Post.

HP spoke with co-creator Ryan Murphy which he describes McShane's character as "a crazy person who was victimized so badly in prison that he made a psychotic break and decides he’s Santa Claus and he knows who’s been naughty and who’s been nice." This episode sounds wickedly horrific.

Lily Rabe who plays Sister Mary Eunice reveals to the Huffington Post how excited she was to work with the legendary actor.

In the Christmas episode, Mary Eunice comes into contact with Santa Claus, who's played by Ian McShane. What was it like working with him?

That was such a highlight. It was so fantastic. I'm such a fan of his. I loved "Deadwood" so much. And we got along really well and we have ... [laughs] very wicked and really delicious stuff to do together. We had a lot of fun. I hope we get to work together again. He's such an incredible actor. And also, it turns out we'd met a couple of times, but we never spent any real time together. He's a great guy and a lot of fun.

The episode aired December 5th.  Check out a few behind-the-scenes videos here and watch the full episode here.

STEWART TOPS FORBES
'MOST BANKABLE STARS' LIST FOR THE SECOND YEAR IN A ROW

Google Images

Kristen Stewart has topped Forbes 'Hollywood's Best Actors for the Buck' list again for the second year in the row coming in at #2. Stewart was narrowly beat out by Natalie Portman who took over the #1 spot due to her film Black Swan.  Stewart held the #1 position last year.

Both SWATH and Breaking Dawn Part 2 help to place Stewart at the top of the list.  Forbes writes:

"Ranking second on our list is Kristen Stewart. For every dollar she gets paid Stewart returns an average $40.60. Stewart is in the unusual situation of ranking high on this list and topping our Highest-Earning Actress list. Usually, if an actor is earning more than anyone else in Hollywood, it’s hard for him or her to be considered a bankable investment. That high salary means the films have to do spectacularly to offer profitable returns to the studios.

Stewart was able to earn a ton over the last three years and offer a healthy return thanks to the Twilight franchise. Even though she was paid $25 million to star in the last two films, she was clearly worth the money. The Twilight films have grossed $3.3 billion at the global box office and the final film, Breaking Dawn Part 2, is still in theaters."

Her two co-stars, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner, also make our list. Pattinson ranks 4th with a $31.70 return for every dollar he is paid. Lautner ranks 6th with a $29.50 return. All three of the actors were paid the same for the final Twilight movies.

The differences in their return numbers comes from their other projects. This year Stewart had Snow White and the Huntsman which turned a nice profit, grossing $400 million on an estimated budget of $170 million."

SWATH LEADS UNIVERSAL TO ITS BEST BOX OFFICE YEAR EVER AS STEWART CONFIRMS THE SWATH SEQUEL HAS THE GREENLIGHT

Universal

Although we had been hearing whispers for some time, receiving winks and nods from sources and plenty of tweets trying to get us to state the status, it would have been irresponsible to state anything was for sure without anyone going on record or official word from Universal regarding the SWATH sequel. From all accounts, Universal is keeping things hushed for the time being unless it is a cruel joke.

However, it appears that Kristen Stewart has let the cat out of the bag (not a slip of a tongue) herself during an interview for the release of her next movie On the Road even though she hinted at it once before.

Here are her statements as they were reported by Indiewire sans an official announcement from Universal as it appears that SWATH 2 is a go.

Here are the interview questions as reported by Indiewire. WARNING: Language:

KRISTEN STEWART IS BOX OFFICE QUEEN: MAKES #2 ON FORBES
'TOP GROSSING ACTORS OF 2012'

Stewart at SWATH premiere

As the year-ending lists keep coming, this one happens to be one of the less superficial ones. Forbes released its 'Top Grossing Actors of 2012' list and Kristen Stewart hits it at #2!

Bringing in the big bucks at the box office is what studios want for commercial films and Stewart has held up her end of it.  Stewart is one of only two actresses on the list, however, she is the #1 actress.

Jennifer Lawrence who is #8 out of 10 actors listed, her film The Hunger Games was supposed to outdraw Stewart's final Twilight film at the box office but failed to hit the mark.  Lawrence's three film releases (Hunger Games, The House at the End of the Street & Silver Linings Playbook) this year still could not take down Stewart.

Starring in a film about a popular children's fairy tale in Universal's Snow White and the Huntsman and becoming a vampire in Summit Entertainment's The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2, these blockbuster films placed Stewart at the top of the box office this year.  She would have been #1 if it was not for the rare billion dollar box office anomaly called The Avengers placing Robert Downy Jr. at the #1 spot.

Summit: Stewart as 'Bella' in Breaking Dawn 2

Kristen Stewart $1.2 billion The majority of the money Stewart brought in at the box office this year came from Twilight. Breaking Dawn Part 2 (which is still in theaters) has earned $779 million at the box office so far. But she tops her Twilight co-stars thanks to Snow White and the Huntsman which earned a healthy $396 million at the global box office. ~Forbes~

OH THE MEMORIES: SWATH IS
ONE OF YAHOO'S
'BEST MOVIE TRAILERS OF 2012'

Yahoo released their Best and Worst Movie Trailers of 2012 and SWATH is one of the best!

Oh how do we remember when the trailers for SWATH were released. The hardened critics had to stand up and take notice and fans worldwide just went crazy.

To see the special effects images from the shattering soldier to seeing the queen take the life out of a beautiful girl, the SWATH trailer was an instant hit.  The ravens, the milk bath, the dwarves, the troll, the Enchanted Forest, the Mirror Man and the dark forest creatures were enough to blow the minds and excite the senses.  And with all of that, there was a love story in there somewhere.

Yahoo states:

"'Snow White and the Huntsmen, second theatrical trailer' -- It’s easy to say they had us at Charlize Theron’s milk bath, but that’s just one of the stark and stylish images that make this trailer stand out. And the reimagining of the mirror on the wall as a liquid-gold menace is a perfect symbol for just how different this telling of the classic fairy tale will be from the one we’ve grown up with. Then there’s the fact that the heroes of the adventure -- Kristen Stewart and Chris Hemsworth -- don't show up until well after the menace is so deviously established, thus making their evil-squelching presence subconsciously desired."

Let's take a stroll down memory lane and take a look at a trailer that got the whole world's attention and fans wanting for more.  Check it out above.

SAM CLAFLIN IS ONE OF FORBES 'BRIGHTEST STARS UNDER 30'
IN ENTERTAINMENT

IMDb (Wolf Marloh)

Forbes is coming out with their annual list of the "young disruptors, innovators and entrepreneurs" of 2012 coming up with the "brightest stars under the age of 30" who are on their way up. SWATH's Sam Claflin makes the list this year as one of the young entertainers whose career is about to take off particularly after landing the most coveted role in the next Hunger Games movie Catching Fire as Finnick Odair.

Read what Forbes had to say about Claflin below and see the remaining list here.

FORBES: "Claflin has had small roles in movies like "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" and "Snow White and the Huntsman." But Hollywood is expecting him to really breakout in next year's "Catching Fire," the second in "The Hunger Games" series. Claflin will play fan favorite Finnick Odair."

SWATH'S 'SNOW WHITE' IS ONE OF "MTV'S TOP MOVIE CHARACTERS" OF 2012 & MORE

Universal

SWATH makes another year-ending list and this time it's 'MTV's Top 50 Movie Characters of 2012'.

Kristen Stewart's Snow White makes it into their list at #31 as the unconventional Snow White.  MTV states:

31. Snow White ("Snow White and the Huntsman")

Forget everything those Brothers Grimm told you about the girl who bit into the poison apple — because this Snow White (played Kristen Stewart) is no damsel in distress. Both fair and fierce, she carries a sword and isn't afraid to use it when it comes to reclaiming her inheritance from the clutches of evil Queen Ravenna (played Charlize Theron). And with the oratory faculties to deliver a "Braveheart"-worthy monologue, she's a well-rounded royal ready to rule. — Amy Wilkinson

MTV also placed Stewart's Twilight franchise as their #1 out of 20 for 'Top Newsmaker of the Year' and Chris Hemsworth's Avengers at #17.  Read more here and here.

STEWART'S BREAKING DAWN 2 MAKES EXTRA'S #1 'MOST ENTERTAINING' OF 2012

Summit

As the year-ending lists come out, there appears to be a pretty good amount that feature SWATH and its cast.  The Oscar ones are the ones we are really keeping our eyes on.  But here is one by Extra TV.

Extra announced its list of The Most Entertaining of 2012. Kristen Stewart's Breaking Dawn Part 2 made the list at #1  being a member of the cast of Twilight.

In 2011, the Twilight cast came in at #5 but with the successful ending to the franchise with the release of the final film, it has taken off to be the best of film of the franchise.

Extra writes:

"Stephenie Meyer's bestselling novels -- about a girl named Bella Swan who falls in love with vampire Edward Cullen, while also forging a close friendship with werewolf Jacob Black -- made the tween set (and their mothers) swoon, launching a literary phenomenon in 2005 on a par with "Harry Potter."

Then came the films. When the first "Twilight" movie was released in 2008, young stars Kristen Stewart ("Bella") and Robert Pattinson ("Edward") were catapulted into teen idol-dom, with hunky Taylor Lautner ("Jacob") following their path in "The Twilight Saga: New Moon" in 2009.

The third film, "Eclipse," opened to huge numbers in 2010, grossing over $300 million domestically, while the fourth book, "Breaking Dawn," was split into two movies. "Part 1" -- which sees Bella and Edward finally get married and consummate their passion, resulting in an unexpected pregnancy -- opened November 18 to even bigger grosses.

With $751.1 million in the bank, the final installment, “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part 2,” already ranks as the most lucrative chapter in the vampire saga. What a nice way to say goodbye!

The rest of the list came in as follows:

#2 Channing Tatum
#3 'Fifty Shades of Grey'
#4 The Cast of 'Hunger Games'
#5 Honey Boo Boo

'SNOW WHITE & THE HUNTMAN' IS ELIGIBLE FOR AN OSCAR HOWEVER...

Universal

Yes, we are happy but we are realists.  The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences released their list of 282 eligible feature films which can contend to receive an Oscar nomination for their 85th annual awards ceremony in February.

Snow White and the Huntsman made the list.

Universal does have an opportunity to see one of its films as a Best Picture nominee but unfortunately, although we always hope for the best for our beloved SWATH, sometimes you just have to face reality and getting a Best Picture nod is just not in its cards.  However, we will always keep hope alive.

SWATH has made a few short lists of eligible Oscar nominations for Hair and Makeup  as well as for Original Soundtrack

We have an expectation to see more technical nominations in the areas of costuming, special effects and possibly cinematography.  SWATH definitely deserves recognition in these areas.  Let's hope for the best.

SNOW WHITE AND THE HUNTSMAN Kristen Stewart. Charlize Theron. Chris Hemsworth. Sam Claflin. Ian McShane. Bob Hoskins. Ray Winstone. Nick Frost. Sam Spruell. Toby Jones. Eddie Marsan. Johnny Harris. Brian Gleeson. Vincent Regan. Lily Cole. Liberty Ross. Noah Huntley. Chris Obi. Rachael Stirling. Hattie Gotobed. Raffey Cassidy. Xavier Atkins. Anastasia Hille. Izzy Meikle-Small. Elliot Reeve. Mark Wingett. Jamie Blackley. Dave Legeno. Matt Berry. Greg Hicks. Peter Ferdinando. Andrew Hawley. Joey Ansah. Gregor Truter. Tom Mullion.

SWATH MAKES OSCAR SHORT LIST FOR
HAIR AND MAKE-UP

The Hollywood Reporter listed the names of the 7 films released by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for the 85th Academy Awards ceremony that are still in contention for an Oscar nomination.  Universal Studios is lucky to have two of their films listed and SWATH is one.

The seven films that made the list are: Universal's Les Misérables,  Hitchcock, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, Lincoln, Looper and Men in Black 3.

The hair and makeup departments are not the only ones who have made the short list of potential Oscar nominees, earlier this week it was announced that the songs in SWATH also made a short list.

Both 'Breath of Life' and 'Gone' made the cut of 75 Original songs that are contending for nominations. Read more here.  Hopefully we should hear some news about costume designs which SWATH's Colleen Atwood should definitely contend. Read about THR's potential Oscar hopefuls for costume designing here.

STEWART MAKES ELLE UK'S
'BEST DRESSED LIST OF 2012'

Yes, it's that time of year where everyone has a year-ending list or some kind of poll.  We'll post a few of the cooler ones like an Elle or a poll or two for fun as the year ends.  Here is one because we not only loved the outfit, it was such a bold choice and unexpected as well.

Kristen Stewart has had to do a lot of red carpets in 2012 from the Cannes Film Festival to multiple movie premieres, she was bound to make a few lists this year be them "hits" or misses."

Elle UK has released their Best Dressed of 2012 and naturally, unless she has absolutely no style what so ever, Stewart made the list.

Stewart lit up the red carpet for the AFI FEST 2012 screening of her film On the Road.  Being the face of Balenciaga's new fragrance Florabotanica, it was no surprise that she wore a Balenciaga outfit designed by Nicolas Ghesquiere.
