INDIE WIRE QUESTIONS FILM FESTIVAL READINESS

With the major film festival season about to gear up, Indie Wire reports that some of the most want-to-see films may not be able to appear at the festivals this fall due to continued post-production.

Francis Ford Coppola, a producer for 'On the Road', is one of several filmmakers that could have a film appear throughout the festival circuit.

Indie Wire states, "whenever it rears its head, it’s sure to spark serious interest from fans of Kerouac’s iconic novel, particularly due to its substantial cast".  Kristen Stewart plays 'Marylou' is a member of the cast.

A release date has yet to be announced. However, 'On the Road' is one of the most anticipated movies of 2011, fans will sure want to see it even if it doesn't make the festival circuit and it certainly is not stopping its Oscar buzz as well .

Indie Wire provides a list of the festivals (see below).  You can read more about the movies that could potentially make the circuit here

"The Oscar launching pads start at Telluride over Labor Day weekend, swiftly followed by the Venice Film Festival (August 31-September 10) and Toronto International Film Festival (September 8-18). Last year, three of the 10 Best Picture nominees screened at the Venice and/or Toronto (and it was five the year before)."
