LEGENDARY PINEWOOD STUDIOS WELCOMES 'SWATH'

The famed and legendary Pinewood Studios sent a message on Twitter today welcoming the cast and crew of the 'Snow White and the Huntsman' production to their studio.

The official announcement states, in part:

"Snow White and the Huntsman, a new epic action-adventure from Universal Pictures, has now begun production at Pinewood Studios.

The crew has started to construct some fantastic sets on the Studios’ backlot, as well as on some of its world famous stages."

Andrew Smith, Group Corporate Affairs Director at Pinewood, commented:

"We’re delighted to be hosting Universal once again for its latest project, Snow White and the Hunstman. The sets and costumes look fantastic, and I am continually struck by the talented and skilled craftsmen and women currently working in the UK film industry. Pinewood is committed to maintaining its status as a centre of excellence for skills and training, and this is a central theme of the Studios’ plans for Project Pinewood. Locating the new Screen Crafts Academy at Project Pinewood adjacent to the Studios would give students an opportunity to experience a world-class filming environment and learn first-hand from the best in the business.”

Pinewood Studios is known for the production of the legendary James Bond films.  Other films that have been produced there are The Dark Knight, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Parts 1 & 2, Mission Impossible and Superman starring the late Christopher Reeves.

With this announcement, it makes the production of SWATH officially in full swing.
