MORE SET PICS: MARLOES SANDS!

Under the ramp 2
Apparently the sequence involves galloping towards a castle, which is to be on Gateholm Island. The castle will be added by the magic of CGI - when Merlin was filmed at the Deer Park they constructed Camelot around the coastguard hut, but the National Park wouldn't let them put anything in the ground - so it blew down!

@MrSimonWood posted a few set pictures during his visit at the Marloes Sands.  He provided descriptions with the pictures and provides an introduction about his visit as follows:

"For four days filming on Marloes Sands at the end of September 2011, a ramp is being constructed onto the beach and "headquarters" are being set up in the field to the east of Sandy Lane. I won't be here for the days of the filming, but I've taken some pictures of the preparations."

Well, the ramp's not really there yet. Just a platform plus a few initial pieces of scaffolding.

Low tide. At high tide there's no sand and very little beach.

Show where the ramp will go.

Junction onto Sandy Lane

A new gateway onto Sandy Lane has been added at the bottom of the field the film crew will use.

Not sure what the giant marquee is for. But with 80 horses and hundreds of people, and probably only a couple of hours either side of high tide when there's enough sand there's probably a use for it...

The lorry on the skyline is laying down decking that forms the road across the field.

With plywood sides and decking.

Half ramp

Scaffolding planks overlaid with plywood. There are apparently over 80 horses involved in the sequence to be filmed, but will they really make it down this ramp? It's smooth and steep, won't they slide down?

Looking towards Gateholm, but at half-tide, so there's no sand, and with the evening sun.

The road across the field runs from the road to Marloes down the the gate onto Sandy Lane.

Low tides will be around mid-day and midnight at the time of the filming. I'd assumed it's a day shoot. But there'll probably be folk onsite 24/7.
