EDDIE MARSAN IS ON BOARD WITH 'FILTH'

With the influx of new financing, Eddie Marsan and others have joined the cast for the film 'Filth' which began production this week, according to Variety.

Along with Marsan, Imogen Poots and James Broadbent signed on to round out the cast. Other cast members include James McAvoy, Jamie Bell, and Joanne Froggatt.

"[The] story is centered on an Edinburgh police detective who manipulates everyone in his path to secure a promotion and win back his wife and daughter."

"[It is] both lurid and darkly hilarious, as it follows the adventures of Bruce Robertson (McAvoy), a sex-obsessed, cocaine-addicted, bigoted Scottish police officer who is supposed to be investigating a murder but gets sidetracked by his own peculiarities, worries and hangups ranging from the pranks he pulls on his co-workers to his various sexual conquests."

According to Variety, "shooting is set for Scotland, primarily Glasgow, as well as locations in Sweden, Belgium and Hamburg."

Marsan's character will be bit of a "slime-ball", according to Indiewire.  No official character descriptions have been released.
