SAM CLAFLIN KEEPS SHIRT ON BUT STILL WINS WITH HUNGER GAMES CAST AT THE MTV MOVIE AWARDS

Sam Claflin attended the 2014 MTV Movie Awards Sunday night at the Nokia Theater LA Live in Los Angeles, California to accept the award for Movie of the Year for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.

Claflin plays the notorious self-absorbed lady's man and youngest victor champion to win the games, Finnick Odair.

Claflin joined with co-star Josh Hutcherson (who also won a popcorn statuette earlier in the evening for Best Male Performance for the film) were both presented with the award by actor/presenter Johnny Depp.

Claflin was the first to take the mic and thank the fans, the cast and crew.  Hutcherson not only thanked the crew but also gave tribute to the late Philip Seymour Hoffman by dedicating the win in his memory.

Earlier in the evening, Claflin walked the red carpet looking loose and casual with his wife actress Laura Haddock in full fledged cheek-pinching PDA adorableness.

SWATH fans may have been be a bit disappointed that neither Claflin (nominated for Finnick Odair) nor Chris Hemsworth (nominated for Thor) won for Best Shirtless which is noted to be a true travesty.

However, Claflin admitted in a post-show interview with Josh Horowitz of MTV News that he just didn't have the confidence to expose his wears before an audience like the winner Zach Efron.

Maybe the good southern food in Atlanta during the Mocking Jay filming could be taking a slight toll on the Finnick physique.

Nevertheless, it was a good night for Claflin and his Hunger Games cast.
