KRISTEN STEWART MAKES HISTORY: BREAKS 30-YEAR DROUGHT AS THE FIRST AMERICAN ACTRESS TO RECEIVE A CESAR NOMINATION

She wasn't even born when the last American actress received a nomination.

Indiewire reports that Kristen Stewart has ended a 30-year American actress drought when the 24-year old actress received a nomination for a Cesar Award for Best Supporting Actress from France's Academy of Cinema Arts. The Cesar the French equivalent of the Oscars.

Indiewire writes:

"Stewart picked up the first nomination for an American actress at the Césars since opera singer Julia Migenes in the 1984 film adaptation of "Carmen," nabbing a Best Supporting Actress nod for her role in Olivier Assayas' "Clouds of Sils Maria.""

COSM received 6 nominations in total. Read more about the nominees here

For Stewart to be the the first American actress to receive a nomination in 30 years is a huge feat to say the least. Let's hope she is able to attend the ceremony being held on February 20th in Paris, France two days before the Academy Awards.
