Maya Beiser

The score is coming along. Composer Stuart Thomas tweeted that they completed a session with cellist Maya Beiser also known as the "cello goddess" and "the diva on a cello," was in session with the orchestra this Saturday for dubbing.

Beiser is a cello virtuoso.  Here is what is said about Beiser:

“Exceptional…Gorgeous…Haunting… Not only does her warm, golden sound permeate even the most searing and challenging passages of music she plays, but she appears to have the ease of a hip-hop turntable spin-meister when it comes to interacting with technology, so the music consistently remains the most crucial message…” – The Chicago Sun-Times

“Maya Beiser has striking, powerful presence… she is an exceptional cellist… A virtuoso. Her deeptoned, concentrated playing can always be counted on to enhance the mystical effect of whatever she performs.” – The Los Angeles Times

Haunting is not the word.  Listen to her beautiful work here as she plays in a piece called "World to Come."

Beiser has appeared on the world's prestigious stages such as Sydney Opera House, New York City’s Lincoln Center, London’s Barbican, Carnegie Hall and the World Expo in Nagoya, Japan.

Beiser's work is truly amazing and if it is anything like what we are hearing, the SWATH score will be outstanding.
