A NEW INCREDIBLE CHARACTER POSTER OF CHARLIZE THERON IN 'MAD MAD: FURY ROAD' RELEASED AT SDCC 2014

Warner Bros.

A new character poster of Charlie Theron as Imperator Furiosa in Mad Max: Fury Road was released today at the  2014 San Diego Comic-Con to extreme audience approval from all accounts.

"If there's a "winner" so far from Comic-Con, it's WB's "Mad Max: Fury Road" which utterly awed San Diego audiences this afternoon in Hall H. Four new character posters have been released," writes The Playlist.

Read their entire report of the Hall H appearance here

Fury Road is set to be released in 2015 after a 2-year delay due to production strife.

This is definitely one of the films to look forward to next year.

CHRIS HEMSWORTH'S THOR SPORTS AN UNFLATTERING WIG IN NEWLY RELEASED EW PHOTOS OF 'AGE OF ULTRON'

Courtesy of Entertainment Weekly (Marvel)

Entertainment Weekly has a sneak peek at Chris Hemsworth and the cast of the 'Avengers: Age of Utron' in the Comic-Con 2014 preview edition.

Hemsworth's hair as Thor looks just about as bad looking as Superman's was in 'Superman III'. What was the director thinking? At least Chris Evans' Captain America looks a lot more put together even with a dirty costume. Maybe that's why he didn't make the cover.

Superman III: Warner Bros.
We can understand if you've been in a hard battle but a superhero still comes out looking a bit better than this.  He is Thor for goodness sakes.

Not only can you see that it's a wig, it's a bad one. Can they do a retake?

In another photo, Thor (on the far left) can be seen sitting in what appears to be in regular human clothing. Maybe EW will shed some light on this.

Look for this special edition on newstands now.

CHARLIZE THERON TO APPEAR AT OSCARS

Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Academy Award-winner Charlize Theron will be making a "special appearance" at that the Oscar ceremony on February 24th.

No further information was provided by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences regarding her appearance, according to EW.  We will definitely be tuned in.

Maybe Charlize will be in a funny skit as the Evil Queen.  Let's hope so and make it a big SWATH night.

FIRST LOOK PHOTOS: SAM CLAFLIN AS THE SWOON-WORTHY 'FINNICK'

Source

Entertainment Weekly released the first photos of Sam Claflin as the athletically handsome Finnick Odair in the Hunger Games sequel Catching FireSam is definitely looking the part.

Sam will be featured in this weeks EW which includes an interview while he was on set in Hawaii.  The EW cover below features Sam with lead actress Jennifer Lawrence who plays Katniss Everdeen.  We have to say, EW may have tried to place her in the foreground but she may as well be a prop in this photo because Sam is stealing the show.

EW writes:

"EW also sat down with Sam Claflin, the green-eyed, dimpled Brit who won the role of District 4′s charming and enigmatic golden boy Finnick Odair, for his first Hunger Games interview. He described filming the infamous sugar cube scene, in which Finnick teases Katniss while wearing nothing beyond some strategically placed netting, as "the scariest moment of my life. I’m on Twitter and so many people have been like 'Don’t mess this up, or we will kill you.'"

It is pretty safe to say those who told Sam they would cause him bodily harm if he "messed this up" were not SWATH fans.

THERON WAS A "FEISTY QUEEN" AT WONDERCON

Universal

[I'm]“...playing evil really, really well.” Theron says about herself about her recent roles in 'Young Adult' and now 'Snow White and the Huntsman'. "That’s because I’m a bitch….Picasso had his blue period, and that this is my bitch period."

Theron's colorful responses standout during the SWATH panel at WonderCon today.  Theron appeared alongside Director Rupert Sanders and Kristen Stewart (Snow White) as they answered questions from the fans moderated by Ben Lyons.

Entertainment Weekly contends Theron was "more feisty" than she appeared at her earlier 'Prometheus' panel.  We guess the evil queen will bring it out of you.

"Everybody has an idea of her,” Theron said with a wry smile, “and there’s something nice about f—ing with that idea."

Yes, we would say that's feisty.  But Kristen Stewart was a bit spirited in defending her role as 'Bella' in comparison to 'Snow White'.  EW writes:

"...she [Stewart] did get her dander up when one questioner implied that her Snow White was a more active, bad-ass heroine in comparison with Twilight‘s Bella Swan. “Hey now!” Stewart said, rising in her seat. “I could have a whole discussion about Twilight, but I won’t."

Hmm, you think these women have a bit of evil queen in them too?

Sanders gave a little insight in the casting of the dwarfs stating that his first feature was supposed to be a British ganster film, so he chose to cast British tough-guys Ray Winstone, Eddie Marsan, Ian McShane etc... as the dwarfs instead.

“These are British gangsters,” he said, “but little.”

CHRIS HEMSWORTH IS AN EW BREAKOUT STAR

Entertainment Weekly announced another year-ending list within their Best and Worst of 2011.  This time it is their 15 Breakout Stars of 2011 and Chris (The Huntsman) Hemsworth lands at #4.

#4 Chris Hemsworth (Thor)

He was days away from shooting the Marvel comic-book ensemble The Avengers last May when Thor — the movie that would introduce Chris Hemsworth as the titular superhero god — opened in theaters. Was he nervous? ''I could say I wasn't, but I'd be lying,'' laughs the 28-year-old Aussie. ''I had my fingers crossed, absolutely!'' Thor went on to gross a mighty $181 million, and suddenly the actor most remembered for his cameo as Captain Kirk's doomed father in J.J. Abrams' 2009 Star Trek reboot was a bona fide star. By the time The Avengers wrapped, Hemsworth had been cast in two major projects for 2012: Snow White and the Huntsman, opposite Kristen Stewart, and Ron Howard's Formula One racing drama Rush. Work kept Hemsworth so busy he almost forgot to enjoy himself. ''It's only now that I sit back from it and I go, 'Oh, wow!' '' he says.

STEWART'S "WARRIOR PRINCESS"

(Interview)

A feature in Entertainment Weekly Magazine's July 22nd issue provides further insight about SWATH  and Kristen Stewart's "Snow White" from Producer Joe Roth.

Roth says it will not be "the polite whistle-while-you work version of the fairy tale", "it's a girl empowerment movie".

EW further states that "Roth adds that Stewart won the role not just because  she brings a massive fan base from the 'Twilight' films but also because of her tart, rebellious attitude and says that her Snow White will not be a naive victim."

Roth says that Stewart's Snow White will begin as a damsel but will turn into a warrior.

EB's recent profile on Stewart (Kristen's Choices) summed her up the same way.  You can read it here.
