NICK FROST RETURNS AS 'NION' AS JESSICA CHASTAIN AND EMILY BLUNT JOIN SWATH PREQUEL

Deadline reports Nick Frost will be the only dwarf to reprise his role in Universal's Snow White and the Huntsman prequel, 'The Huntsman'. Frost will return as Nion.

Frost rejoins Chris Hemsworth as the huntsman and Charlize Theron as Queen Ravenna with SWATH's Visual Effects guru Cedric Nicolas-Troyan who will direct after the controversial departure of Frank Darabont. The first-time director received an Oscar nomination for his work on SWATH's VFX. This will most likely guarantee continuity between the two films.

Also returning will be Joe Roth as producer and Palak Patel who will executive produce, according to Deadline.

Jessica Chastain (Zero Dark Thirty) and Emily Blunt (Into the Woods) joined the cast. Blunt is reported to play a villain. No word on Chastain's role.

UNIVERSAL CONFIRMS SWATH SEQUEL STORYLINE WILL FEATURE KRISTEN STEWART'S 'SNOW WHITE'

Issue 8 BIZ Exec Suite Adam Fogelson - H 2013

Universal Studios Chairman Adam Fogelson has confirmed what direction the SWATH sequel story will take in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.

Last December, Deadline reported that SWATH Producer Joe Roth stated that a script for the sequel was written and turned in by screenwriter Evan Daugherty. Kristen Stewart confirmed seeing a script which she said she liked in her own Stewart-y way.

Now Fogelson gives insight on the story's angle.

Fogelson to THR: "We're actively developing the movie right now with Kristen's character central, as well as the Huntsman role. We think that for a first movie out of the gate to do basically $400 million worldwide, there is a lot of opportunity.

He also confirmed that the sequel will most likely have a different director.

So there you have it unless something changes.  The studio, the producer and the lead actress all have confirmed that a sequel script is in development.

Now the only thing left is to determine the title, the new and returning cast members and the first day of pre-production.  So let the race to the premiere begin!!

SWATH PRODUCERS JOE ROTH & PALAK PATEL SHINE ON 'OZ' YELLOW BRICK ROAD

Palak Patel - Premiere Of Walt Disney Pictures' "Oz The Great And Powerful" - Red Carpet
Joe Roth & Palak Patel

SWATH and now 'Oz' producers Joe Roth and Palak Patel ease on down the yellow brick (carpet) road Wednesday at the world premiere of their next venture Oz: The Great and Powerful held at the  El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood.  The yellow brick road (carpet) was colorful and fantastical. Not only did it include the stars of the film, it boasted a hot air balloon too.

'Oz' stars James Franco (Oz) , Mila Kunis (Theodora),  Michelle Williams (Glinda), Rachel Weisz (Evanora) and Zach Braff (Frank/Finley).

The story is kind of prequel of sorts to The Wizard of Oz. Oz (Franco) is whisked away to the Land of Oz where he thinks he going to obtain fame and fortune only to find himself trying to determine who is friend or foe.

The film will be shown in IMAX 3D and will still have the visual traditions of the the original Oz film having the dullness of Kansas turn into the vibrancy of Oz.

Check out a few photos of the premiere below and visit the official website and follow the latest news on Twitter.  Oz: The Great and Powerful opens March 8th.

ROTH'S 'ANGER MANAGEMENT' SETS CABLE TV RECORD

FX/Joe Roth Telvision

Taking a chance with one of Hollywood's most controversial and volatile assets, SWATH Producer Joe Roth appears to have a hit on his hands.  His new show 'Anger Management' was the most watched scripted adult comedy in the history of cable TV, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Roth's television production company, Joe Roth Television, produces the sit-com starring Charlie Sheen as he is making a comeback after being removed from his CBS hit comedy show Two and a Half Men.  Sheen was dismissed from the series after a public dispute with its creator and for what some would consider to be a part of a "public meltdown".

THR is reporting that there may be a possible order of 90 shows if a "rating threshold" is met.  Anger Management won the coveted 18-45 age category with 5.47 million viewers in its first episode and increased with the second episode to 5.74.

Producers will have to see if the ratings will hold, but it looks like Sheen may have his mojo back.

Anger Management sees Sheen stepping into the role of ex-ball player, current anger management coach Charlie Goodson, who gets up to hijinks involving his ex-wife (Shawnee Smith), therapist (Selma Blair), teenaged daughter (Daniela Bobadilla) and various clients (Noureen DeWulf, Barry Corbin) ~ Collider

CHRIS HEMSWORTH UP FOR A MOBY DICK INSPIRED FILM:
ROTH & PATEL INVOLVED

Deadline is reporting that Chris Hemsworth could possibly be teaming back up with producers Joe Roth & Palak Patel in a Moby Dick inspired film based on the National Award-winning book In the Heart of the Sea authored by Nathaniel Philbrick .

The story is based upon the tragic demise of the whale ship named Essex which inspired the movie Moby Dick, according to Deadline. Based on a true story, the book tells the tale of how the whaling ship that was destroyed by a sperm whale in 1820.

Deadline reports that the film called for a young actor to play the lead hero.  The project apparently has been around Hollywood for a while.  The project will be produced by SWATH producers Joe Roth and Palak Patel along with Paula Weinstein and Will Ward.  Charles Leavitt (Blood Diamond) will pen the script and Dreamworks is the  rumored studio but no confirmation.

Deadline explains the project as follows:

He plays a first mate who was supplanted as captain of the whaling ship by a better connected rival. When the ship was attacked by the sperm whale in the Pacific, he becomes the hero who leads some of them to safety. A total of 20 crewmen, the captain and first mate escaped in small whaling boats. An isolated tropical island was just 1000 miles downwind, but the captain ordered them to head the other way, out of fear of false rumors of flesh-eating savages on the island. Because they headed to South America, the boats were stranded. The survivors were ironically forced to become cannibals, casting lots in one ship to see who had to die and who had to execute him so others could eat and survive. That’s part of the tale, but another big part is the depiction of the New England whaling industry of the 1800s, when men risked their lives to chase and harpoon whales for their oil.

ROTH & PATEL TO PRODUCE A LITERARY- THEMED ACTION- ADVENTURE THRU SONY PICTURES

Universal

The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that SWATH producers Joe Roth and Palak Patel along with Ernest Luppinacci will produce a new film through Sony Pictures that is a "literary-themed action-adventure" film.

Sony has "pre-emptively" obtained the rights to The Royal Honour Society.  Details are sketchy.

THR writes:

"[The project] it's described as the iconic stories of some of England's greatest writers from the late 19th century -- among them H.G. Wells (The War of the Worlds, The Invisible Man), Jules Verne (20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, Journey to the Center of the Earth), Robert Louis Stevenson (Treasure Island, The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde) -- together in an action-adventure tale.

"Think of it as a reverse League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, the Alan Moore-written comic book series later turned into a 2003 Fox movie that featured the famous creations of many late-19th century authors."

Sounds interesting and very fanboyish but we are sure it will have a universal appeal.  We cannot wait to hear more details.

However in the meantime, Hollywood is still in its fairytale phase with SWATH being released June 1st and with Roth currently producing the Sleeping Beauty story 'Maleficent' starring Angelina Jolie.  'Maleficent' is currently in production in the UK starring Angelina Jolie.

DO YOU KNOW THE NAMES OF THE OTHER TWO 'SNOW WHITE' MOVIES?

(Universal)

During the pre-Comic-Con hype, Universal announced that their 'Snow White' will be a series of "3" films.  Some fans may not be aware that Producer Joe Roth provided the "tentative names" of the remaining two 'Snow White' films and they are:

Snow White and the Infinite Sadness and; Snow White's Finest Hour.

According to Roth, these may not be the final titles. Both movies are to be released in 2014 and 2016.  You can read more of Roth's interview here at Indie Wire.

Note:  Although the article uses "trilogy" Producer Palak Patel later clarified what was being reported via Twitter regarding the films being a "series" and not an ongoing "trilogy".

STEWART'S COMIC-CON 2011

Mega-post

SATURDAY, JULY 23rd - Happy SWATH at Comic-Con Day!!

Saturday's theme at the Snow White and the Huntsman's Comic-Con panel could easily be "BRING IT ON!" and we're not talking about the movie about competing cheerleaders.

In more ways than one, Universal set the standard as to what this Snow White battle will be about.  If it wasn't Charlize Theron as 'The Queen' calling out Kristen Stewart's 'Snow White' by saying "Bitch let's go!", we believe she took the words right of Universal's mouth to Relativity after what happened Saturday.  We'll discuss the media's take on the battle later.

In the meantime, the banter between Kristen Stewart and Oscar winning actress Charlize Theron was witty and shows the potential chemistry to come when the panel finally met at Comic-Con today.

Cinema Blend reported that Theron said she just met Stewart but "but I know she's going to give me a run for her money and I'm ready for it bitch let's go!"

Sorry Charlize, last time I check, Snow White lives happily ever after.  But bring it Stewart will.

Movieline reports that Stewart did not initially jump at the chance to play Snow White but said, "she [Snow White] is one of the most heavy-handedly sincere [characters] seriously doesn't let her heart cloud her mind. Also I get to have a sword and stuff".

You can read the full transcriptions of the panel's appearance here and here.

Again, we've learned that there will be 8 dwarfs because Disney has the licensing to have 7.  But Producer Joe Roth indicated that one of the dwarfs will die as a way to get around that problem.

From all accounts, the cast was friendly and excited about the project.  New director, Rupert Sanders seemed to impress the media masses as well as the fans with his presentation.  Taking into considering that this will be his first big feature film, that took a lot of doing especially when the pens want something negative to write.

Josh Dicky of Variety has posted his story here at Showblitz.com.  His account provides the fans a clear picture of what SWATH is about.  He also gives a positive "thumbs up" to the project.

This is in stark contrast to the scathing report Melissa Silverstein wrote on Indie Wire regarding the stereotypes perpetuated by Relativity's 'Snow White.

The Hollywood Reporter's positive report is a sure sign that Universal's version has a leg up in the "Snow White Wars" as well.

THR states it this way:

"Now it’s on, people!

The game of one-upmanship between Universal and Relativity over their competing Snow White movies ramped up at Comic-Con—and Universal now has the edge.

A day after Relativity released a first-look photo of Lilly Collins as Snow White in its untitled movie, Universal arrived in San Diego with a swath of character photos from Snow White and the Huntsman, including Kirsten Stewart holding a sword and shield as Snow White, Charlize Theron looking menacing as the dagger-wielding Evil Queen, Chris Hemsworth as the hunky Huntsman and Sam Claflin as a prince.

And while its movie doesn’t start production until August, Universal still made a big impression with a well-received presentation of test footage and director Rupert Sanders’ commercials to get audience excited.

All this compared to Relativity’s Comic-Con no-show for its Snow White, which has been in production in Montreal since June."

You can read the rest of THR's report of the panel here. All reports pretty much agree that without filming a single frame yet, the presentation was impressive and the pictures seen on the official SWATH movie site here and on the official Facebook page here shows the impressiveness and where this film is potentially going.

If there is any sign of where this is headed, Universal and the producers should be pretty comfortable with the mass of positive tweets that sent 'Snow White' trending world-wide (see below).

So Comic-Con ends with a bang for SWATH and Kristen Stewart but her year is not even close to being over.

With 2 films coming out this year (On the Road, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Pt. 1) and with the filming of SWATH, Stewart's 2011 is definitely a bench mark for this long and young career.

Today gave every SWATH fan what they expected and then some.  The cast was great and the media was impressed.  The only thing left is to get it in the can and into theaters.

You can watch the full panel presentation here as provided by a fan (@315Melon).

Remember that Comic-Con will post Hall H panels here.  So watch out for their posts as well.

We here at The Enchanting Beauty would like to thank those of you who kept us entertained on Twitter with your questions and providing insights as to all the Comic-Con hoopla either knowingly or unknowingly.

Continue to stay with us for the news about SWATH..."More news, less gossip."   Happy SWATH at Comic-Con Day!!
