Kristen Stewart is one of the few in Hollywood who has as an eclectic resume consisting of successful blockbuster films to dramatic indies as a lead actress.

Although she has played a superhero type in her films she, like the rest of us, would like to actually be in a superhero film.  One thing is for sure, Stewart has the chops to do it.

Kristen Stewart attended the Forum Film Festival Q & A after the 'Camp X-Ray' screening held at the NYU Law School's Tishman Theater Tuesday night. 

Stewart was joined by director and writer Peter Sattler as they answered questions posed by the host and audience. Fans enjoyed a very insightful input from Stewart and Sattler. 

I am a wee bit tired from the prior night's escapades, but check out my somewhat spoilerish but not too much review of the night below.

NICK FROST TALKS ABOUT HIS ANIMATED FILM 'THE BOX TROLLS' WHICH OPENS TODAY

Nick Frost talks about his new animated film called The Box Trolls which released today in theaters.

The Box Trolls stars Elle Fanning, Simon Pegg and Ben Kingsley.

The Box Trolls is about "an orphaned boy raised by underground cave-dwelling trash collectors tries to save his friends from an evil exterminator." (IMDb)

SAM CLAFLIN STAYS HUMBLE - TELLS VANITY FAIR 'HUNGER GAMES' HASN'T CHANGED HIS LIFE

In a Vanity Fair interview for the promotion of his film The Riot Club, Sam Claflin shows a humble side stating that being a part of the Hunger Games franchise has not changed his life at all. 

"Nothing has changed. I'm exactly the same person. Everything's exactly the same."

The only thing that has changed is that Finnick Odair physique. 

At the film's premiere at the Toronto Film Festival, Claflin recently told E!'s Mark Malkin that he has been on a bit of a diet break since filming the Hunger Games.

"I'm on a little bit of a break, a little downtime." 

"I'm enjoying myself, everything that I've missed over the two and a half years nearly. I'm kind of catching up. Lots of friends, family and drinks to be ordered."

That's okay Sam, we have you on DVD to forever enjoy Finnick in all his glory.

JOHNNY HARRIS TALKS ABOUT HIS FIRST ROLE AS LEADING MAN IN 'MONSTERS: DARK CONTINENT'

Sportsview London had a chance to speak with Johnny Harris in August about his film Monsters: Dark Continent.

As a first time leading man, Harris spoke about how excited he was about making the film. 

"It was one of the best experiences I've had on a film set," says Harris.

"It's my first lead role in a movie..so, um I'm excited for it." "I want the world see it."

Harris explains that although the film was made over a year ago, CGI special effects needed to be added which is the reason it has taken time for the film to hit theaters.

MDC will be released on November 28th in the UK.  If you want to see it before then, you can screen it at the London Film Festival in October. Click here for details.

KRISTEN STEWART VISITS PARIS FOR FASHION AND FRAGRANCE

Kristen Stewart took a quick trip to Paris to take care of some fashion business. Reports have her meeting with fashion icon Karl Lagerfeld regarding her duties as the face of Chanel's Paris-Dallas Métiers d'Art Collection line to be released this May.

JOHNNY HARRIS TALKS 'WELCOME TO THE PUNCH', GIVES EXCLUSIVES RE: UPCOMING PROJECT & MORE WITH EDITH BOWMAN

Earlier today, Johnny Harris appeared on the Edith Bowman BBC Radio 6 show to promote his upcoming movie Welcome to the Punch. 

Harris gives a bit of an exclusive regarding his next project named Monster: Dark Continent. Dark Continent, a follow up to the (2010) film Monsters, is directed by Tom Green. Harris plays the elder of two American soldiers caught behind enemy lines.  It is currently four weeks into pre-production with three more to go.  

Indiewire describes the film as follows:

"Seven years on from the events of Monsters, and the ‘Infected Zones’ have spread worldwide. Humans have been knocked off the top of the food chain, with disparate communities struggling for survival. American soldiers are being sent abroad to protect US interests from the Monsters, but the war is far from being won. Noah, a haunted soldier with several tours under his belt, is sent on a mission: an American soldier has gone rogue deep in the Infected Zone, and Noah must reach him and take him out. But when Noah’s unit and transport are destroyed, he finds himself with only a young and inexperienced cadet for company – the brother of the man Noah has been sent to kill. The two soldiers must go on a life-altering journey through the dark heart of monster territory, accompanied by a young local woman to guide them. By the time the three of them reach their goal, they will have been forced to confront the fear that the true monsters on the planet may not be alien after all."

JOHNNY HARRIS TALKS DWARVES, QUERT, STEWART & SWATH

SWATH's Johnny Harris provides another insightful interview this time with The Big Issue which was in conjunction of the DVD release.

Harris talks about the working on SWATH and the comradely between the actors.  One can see that Harris enjoyed working on SWATH.  


Are you tired of answering questions about dwarves already? 

 No, it’s funny. Different projects have different atmospheres. They can be very intense depending on the material but with Snow White we were able to have a hell of a lot of fun. I imagine it could be difficult trying to sell a film or talk about a film you don’t quite believe in. Actually that’s a really telling word: selling. If you have to talk about a film you didn’t particularly enjoy the experience of making it then it will feel like selling it, but when you’ve had a really enjoyable experience it feels like you’re having a chat about good times.


Good times and fairytales. 

Fairytales are the great stories and as actors we are storytellers so to take part in a fairytale is as good as it gets. 


Unless it’s pantomime. 

People know the story so they want to see something different, otherwise why retell it?


How is Snow White and the Huntsman different to other versions of the fairytale? 

 It’s epic. I guess that could be used for most versions, including the Disney version, but this is definitely epic in scale. With some films you hope an audience will see the little subtle things you’ve done. With this I would say to people, get your popcorn, get comfy, find the biggest screen you can, sit back and let it wash over you. But there is darkness in there. Fairytales were originally tools for adults. They would sit around a fire and use them to study and ponder the human psyche. 



Harris talks about working with SWATH's 'Snow White' Kristen Stewart and how they [dwarves] formed a bond: 

And how is Kristen Stewart to work with? 

 For such a young lady to be steering the size of ship she was, she’s amazing. She just got her sleeves rolled up and stuck in. She’s very diligent, very inclusive. We were a real unit. We formed a real bond. 


Harris also talks about working with the legendary actor Bob Hoskins as well as the other distinguished British actors who were the dwarves:



It must have been a privilege to be part of a dwarf gang alongside Bob Hoskins, Ray Winstone, Ian McShane… 

 I said to Ray one day on set that if it wasn’t for the likes of him and Bob Hoskins it wouldn’t have been possible for me to enter the profession. But Ray said it was exactly the same for him, and he went back to people like Michael Caine, even further to Charlie Chaplin. With these guys I can quote lines from their films so to be standing next to them and performing was kind of dreamlike. Going home after work and explaining what had happened that day was like explaining a weird dream. Ray Winstone was there… Bob Hoskins was there… We were in a forest - but we were all dwarves, and Kristen Stewart was crying… It was surreal.


What do the dwarves represent then? 

 It’s interesting. I don’t think it’s as linear as that. We’re not as linear as Sleepy and Grumpy and Happy but they’ve all got their individual traits. They have a back history. 

Does it take more than one word to describe your character? 

I play Qwert and he’s quite a sensitive soul actually. Some of the other guys are a bit more hardened, a bit more grizzled. A bit more scared I’d say. I think all people who are angry have fear underneath somewhere. They were a very proud race a very proud species of men who were miners historically. They used to go in down into the mine for a specific purpose – it’s because they could seek out beauty in darkness; gold in that darkness. They lost that. The queen stripped them of their pride and dignity and they’re the last left of their breed. They roamed the forest pillaging and robbing and surviving and then they meet Snow White and she represents that part of their past that they once had.

EDDIE MARSAN BELIEVES THE CRAFT OF ACTING IS SOMETHING YOU CAN LEARN

From Spielberg to Woody Allen, SWATH's Eddie Marsan has worked with some of the greatest directors in Hollywood.  A respected British actor in his own right, he talks to Hunger TV about acting and more in an interview that is featured in their recent magazine. 

Marsan tells Hunger TV that people believe acting has a "mystique to it" and "it is something they can never do" and he is not a great believer in that.

STEWART ANSWERS FAN QUESTIONS IN FLORABOTANICA INTERVIEW

Kristen Stewart represented  Balenciaga on Thursday as their muse to promote its latest fragrance Florabotanica at a Live Chat Interview answering fan questions.  Fans around the world submitted questions ahead of time which, if chosen, Balenciaga awarded a bottle of the fragrance.

The interview, which trended worldwide on Twitter, focused on the fragrance which Kristen described it as "fresh," "dangerous" and "very French" and equated it to the film Alice In Wonderland.  She even joked that its artwork reminds her of her brain.  When you see the Florabotanica artwork you'll understand.   

The interview was to last 30 minutes. However, the moderator finished the pre-screen questions and did not have backup questions in order to fill the time slot cutting the interview short.  Kristen attempted to stretch the time by talking about her relationship with Balenciaga's creative director Nicolas Ghesquière. She stated that both of them have been wanting to work together since a photoshoot she did when she was 14.  

Being placed in an uncomfortable position to try to stretch the time, Kristen ended by apologizing for not being able to fill up the time and thank the fans for supporting her.

HEMSWORTH DIDN'T WANT 'THOR'
 TO SOUND LIKE 

'CROCODILE DUNDEE'

Prestige Hong Kong visited Chris Hemsworth for an interview on the set of Thor 2 which is currently being filmed in the UK. Chris discussed his upcoming projects, his preparation for films, Twitter and more.


Here are a few highlights:

I read somewhere that to get yourself into the mode of a drunken huntsman for Snow White, you used to spin around before takes. Were there any techniques you used to get in the zone for Thor?

[That quote came about because] I was asked, “Do you have any prep?” and I said, “Not really.” Then I sort of jokingly added, “Sometimes I’d spin around in circles to make myself feel drunk.” But it’s the one scene. I wouldn’t say it’s a ritual by any means. [For Thor], there’s a lot of ongoing reading and rereading of the script. I have a guy that I work with a lot who’s a voice coach, but also far more than that. We pull scripts apart and go into who these people are; his whole attitude of approaching a character is, instead of trying to mimic something or work out technically how you do that, it’s more why does someone speak like that. 



How did you settle on that very proper “English” accent for the Norse god, Thor? 

For whatever reason, it just seems to fit that world. Probably for no other reason than that it’s the way it’s been done in history. We associate Shakespearean speak [with god-like beings] because so many British actors have done it over the years. It resonates with the audience. Also, we had Anthony Hopkins, who is Welsh but has similar tones. I certainly couldn’t play him as Australian because people would think, “That’s Crocodile Dundee! 

You seem to steer clear of all the tech outlets that other celebrities use, such as Instagram and Twitter. Why is that?

I think there’s a danger of being overexposed with that stuff. The mystery of who you are is what keeps people interested in wanting to see you on the screen. Also, it’s easier for them to believe you as that character if they don’t know too much about you. It’s hard not to be overexposed these days with the Internet, and especially when you do a tour for something like The Avengers or Snow White, where you’re contracted to do an incredible amount of press. Besides, I’d rather be hanging out with my family than updating to people I don’t know about what I had for lunch. Also, there are so many fake ones out there, which is pretty frustrating.


Well, it seems like Chris needs to be taught about the uses of Twitter.  If he doesn't want people to know what he ate, then don't tweet it and block the people who get out of line. Heck, if a star of Tom Hanks' caliber can tweet, Thor can too!  *chuckles*

VISUAL EFFECTS SUPERVISOR NICOLAS-TROYAN TALKS DWARF, TROLL & OTHER SPECIAL EFFECTS

"[Dwarf effect] was mainly achieved with good old school tricks, of raising the other actors in the shot or having the 'dwarf' actors lower than anybody else," says Cedric Nicolas-Troyan director of Visual Effects on SWATH.

Coinciding with the release of the SWATH Blu-ray DVD this week, Moviemaker.com gives insight into some of the visual effects secrets of the film. 

One effect secret was how the actors who portrayed the dwarves were made into little people on screen.  A trick Nicolas-Troyan talks about was digging trenches allowing the actors to stand in them making them shorter as well as using body doubles with CGI.

Nicolas-Troyan states, "...we created a dwarf double of the principal actor with matching wardrobe and extremely precise matching make-up, exceptionally crafted by David White and his team. On some of those shots we did some digital face replacements. We also digitally dwarfed the principal actors, shortening their limbs to make them look smaller. A lot of it was simple 2D compositing. We peppered those shots at key moments to always remind the audience who those dwarves were."

Nicolas-Troyan says there were a lot of challenges on set and with the effects.  However, the "troll sequence" was challenging but went smoothly.

"...very challenging sequence on paper and almost the easiest to shoot. The reason: We prepared it, rehearsed it and shot it without changing anything. The result: One of the most memorable sequence in the film. We got lucky."

STEWART HUMBLED BY FANS USING SOCIAL MEDIA

Extra TV's Ben Lyons interviewed Kristen Stewart during the Toronto International Film Festival press junket for her film 'On the Road'.  

Lyons brought to Stewart's attention her prolific social media following by her fans and the attention he receives every time he tweets something about her. 

"They go nuts," "...they just love you...," "... the follow where you go...and your movies..."

He went on to say it is not like "any other actor he deals with at all."   Lyons asks Stewart how she feels about it and she says "it feels amazing."   Garrett Hedlund, who is doing the joint interview and who earlier praises Stewart about her work in the film, jokes about his disappointment that he does not have it like that.
