BACK TOGETHER AGAIN: SAM CLAFLIN JOINS KRISTEN STEWART IN THE "CHARLIE'S ANGELS" REBOOT

Variety reported on Monday that Sam Claflin will join his former "Snow White and the Huntsman" co-star Kristen Stewart in the reboot of "Charlies Angels". 

Variety announced in July Stewart would be starring in the reboot with fellow angels Naomi Scott ("Aladdin") and British actress Ella Balinska ("Midsomer Murders"). The identities of who would play each angel has not been revealed.

KRISTEN STEWART & CHRIS HEMSWORTH MAKE THE ACADEMY OF MOTION PICTURES CLASS OF 2017!!

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences announced their new membership class of 2017 Wednesday afternoon with our SWATH stars making the cut. 

Kristen Stewart and Chris Hemsworth join the largest Oscar voting class which boasts 774 new members representing 57 countries. In the last two years, the Academy has been trying to right the wrongs of a long history of its lack of diversity which the majority of its membership was made up of older white males. 

Stewart has been in the entertainment business as a child actress starring alongside some of the best actors in the business (Robert DeNiro, Jessie Eisenberg, Julianne Moore, Alec Baldwin, Jodie Foster, Forest Whitaker, Jared Leto, James Gandolfini, Melissa Leo and more).  As a teen, Stewart starred in Twilight which is one of the most successful non-comic book blockbuster film series in history. 

Since the release of the Snow White and the Huntsman in 2012, Stewart has gone back to her indie roots where she has been a part of many critically acclaimed performances in films such as Clouds of Sils Maria (which she won a French Oscar for Best Actress), Still Alice, Woody Allen's Cafe Society and Personal Shopper where she teamed back up with her 'Sils Maria' director Oliver Assayas.  She was recently lauded at this year's Cannes Film Festival with her directorial debut of the short film Come Swim which she also wrote. 

Hemsworth has maintained his more commercial big budget film roots in films such as the successful remake of Ghostbusters, Blackhat, In the Heart of the Sea and the SWATH pre-quel/sequel The Huntsman: Winter's War. 

He continues his appearance as Thor in the Marvel films The Avengers: Age of Ultron and Dr. Strange along with his upcoming sequels Thor: Ragnarok and Avengers: Infinity War. 

In one of his rare indie appearances, critics gave him praise in his role as the Formula 1 race car driver James Hunt in the biopic Rush directed by Ron Howard. 

As two of Hollywood's top young talents, their membership in the Academy is well-deserved and will give more youthful insight into the Oscar voting. Congratulations to them both. Now vote vote vote!

UNIVERSAL TO DISTRIBUTE KRISTEN STEWART'S 'PERSONAL SHOPPER' IN VARIOUS MARKETS

Universal Pictures is set to distribute Kristen Stewart's Personal Shopper in international markets, according to Variety.

"Scandinavia, Latin America and Eastern Europe are among the regions where Universal Pictures Home Entertainment Content Group will distribute the film next year. It will be made available in movie theaters, on DVD, via digital download and TV." 
  
Stewart reunites with Clouds of Sils Maria director Oliver Assayas. Stewart became the first American actress to win the Cesar, the French equivalent to the Oscar, for the film.  

Personal Shopper received a nearly 5-minute standing ovation when it premiered at Cannes with the Best Director award going to Assayas.

Personal Shopper is about a young American Woman in Paris played by Stewart, "who makes her living as the personal shopper for a celebrity. In the backdrop, Maureen starts to suspect she may possess psychic powers like those of her recently deceased brother when she starts receiving messages from an ambiguous source."

No U.S. distributor or release date has been announced to date.

KRISTEN STEWART & NICHOLAS HOULT CATCH FEELINGS IN 'EQUALS' TEASER TRAILER

Finally a teaser trailer has been released for the forbidden dystopian love story starring Kristen Stewart and Nicholas Hoult called Equals. 

The film takes place a future where emotions are outlawed. Both Stewart and Hoult are afflicted with the "Switched On Syndrome," where feelings of love come back to life. 

The trailer draws the viewer into their world and the expectations of what will be a relationship of some kind. 

Equals is a sci-fi directed by Drake Doremus and also stars Guy Pearce and Jacki Weaver.

KRISTEN STEWART WINS NEW YORK FILM CRITICS CIRCLE AWARD FOR 'BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS'

Kristen Stewart was bestowed the New York Film Critics Circle Best Supporting Actress Award for her role in Oliver Assayas' Clouds of Sils Maria Wednesday morning.

Although Stewart won the Best Supporting Actress César (French Oscar), pundits believed Stewart's performance would not continue to resonate in time for the Oscar nominations since the film opened over a year ago at the Cannes Film Festival.

However, the tough New York film critics brushed aside any naysayers and may have cleared the pathway for a Best Supporting Actress Oscar nomination for Stewart.

The NYFCC is known to be the "principled alternative to the Oscars honoring esthetic merit in a forum that is immune to commercial and political pressures." The Academy Award nominations are usually in correlation to the NYFCC winners.  Meaning, as history dictates, Stewart should be nominated.

The NYFCC awards will be handed out during a ceremony held on January 4, 2016.

'THE HUNTSMAN' NEW CHARACTER POSTERS RELEASED WITH NEW TITLE BUT HUNTSMAN MISSES SPOTLIGHT AS FANS QUESTION PREQUEL CLAIM

Universal Pictures revealed the new title, plot and character posters for 'The Huntsman' now known as The Huntsman Winter's War.

It appears that Universal may have to combat some trolling references to Frozen and Captain America: The Winter Soldier being tossed around due to Chris Hemsworth's Marvel connection and Emily Blunts movie poster (below) which appear to give a wink and a nod in name and appearance to the successful Disney films.

KRISTEN STEWART SHOWS OFF TATS ON THE LATE LATE SHOW WITH JAMES CORDEN

Kristen Stewart makes her first appearance on the Late Late Show with new host James Corden promoting her film 'Clouds of Sils Maria' currently in theaters.

Stewart was joined on the couch by Ben McKenzie (Gotham) and musician Mark Ronson (Uptown Funk).

Corden initially introduced his guests from their dressing rooms where Stewart showed off her skirt and yes, her patented "bare feet."  

Corden congratulated Stewart for being the first American to win the French Oscar for CoSM which led to talking about her tattoo. 

Stewart revealed that the tattoo she was fake while filming CoSM but she eventually missed having it. Stewart admitted that she "rebelled" from getting tattoos because her whole family had them.  She said she wanted to be "pure."  

After filming, she asked her mother to contact her tattoo artist and the rest is history. See the entire exchange in the video below. 

Stewart discussed her upcoming Woody Allen film, fan encounters and working for 18 hours on her recent birthday.

EMILY BLUNT SHOWS OFF HER LIP SYNCING SKILLS IN A DEVIL WEARS PRADA BATTLE ROYALE WITH ANNE HATHAWAY

If you haven't seen Spike TV's Lip Sync Battle, it is a must see on Thursday nights at 10p ET/PT/9C hosted by actor and rap legend LL Cool J.  Two stars lip sync to two songs and the winner receives the championship belt. 

In its third episode, The Huntsman's Emily Blunt takes on her 'Devil Wears Prada' nemesis Anne Hathaway in one of the funniest moments on television. 

Blunt opened with Blackstreet's 'No Diggity' and finished in full costume and stage show with Janet Joplin's 'A Piece of My Heart'.






Hathway threw the first blow with her rendition of Mary J. Blige's 'Love' and scored a knock out with her masterful rendition of the Miley Cyrus hit 'Wrecking Ball'. Blunt bowed to Hathaway's amazing performance that left the audience screaming her Hathaway's name while admitting that her "balls just got wrecked." 

Hathaway has a bit of experience lip syncing when she joined Kristen Stewart in the Jenny Lewis video 'Just One of the Boys'.   

Blunt was later used as a prop when one of Stewart's 'Twilight' castmates, Anna Kendrick, stole Blunt from her battle opponent who is Blunt's husband actor/director John Krasinksi when she performed One Direction's 'Steal My Girl' on the forth episode. CBS SUNDAY MORNING'S MOVIE CRITIC DAVID EDELSTEIN PRAISES KRISTEN STEWART'S MOVIE CAREER

It seems like Kristen Stewart winning the prestigious French Oscar also known as the Cesar has had the top film critics taking notice or at least speaking up to let the world know that they knew she was this talented all along.

New York Film Critic David Edelstein does not dole out endorsements like candy.  So when he took to the CBS Sunday Morning show today to rain praises on her amazing career, hopefully it will make people understand that it is more to Stewart's career than 'Twilight'.

Edelstein opens by talking about critics reviews of her performance in the 'Twilight' films but then says, "Laugh all you want, I always thought that Stewart was a really good good actress." "You just have to accept that she never, ever wants to be caught acting." 

He goes into her background in film from her growing up on film sets with her parents and didn't have the typical "kid actor's look at me vibe."

KRISTEN STEWART AND CONAN O'BRIEN HAVE FUN TALKING FRENCH OSCARS AND PERSONAL ASSISTANTS

Kristen Stewart had another fun appearance on the Conan O'Brien show Wednesday night as she appeared to promote the release of 'Clouds of Sils Maria'.

O'Brien touched on a range of topics which included Stewart winning the Cesar award (French Oscar) and having personal assistants.

Happy Birthday to Kristen Stewart who turns 25-years old today!

Our Snow White has been full steam ahead with her career being as hot as ever lately. The films are not huge blockbusters; however, she has been receiving consistent critical acclaim for her performance in them.

After having several films released last year, Kristen began 2015 with an Oscar campaign for her work in 'Still Alice' which her co-star Julianne Moore won the Oscar for Best Lead Actress. 

Not to be left behind, Kristen made history winning Best Supporting Actress for her role in 'Clouds of Sils Maria' by receiving the prestigious French Oscar a.k.a Cesar Award 30 years after first American actress was nominated.

Although she said she was taking the year off, she has been accepting offers for projects left and right.  No rest for the weary.

Legendary writer/director Woody Allen offered her a role in his next untitled film where she teams up again with her 'Adventureland/American Ultra' co-star Jesse Eisenberg. 

She just completed filming the Kelly Reichardt untitled project with Laura Dern and Michelle Williams and is gearing up to film the two-time Oscar winning director Ang Lee's 'Billy Lynn's Halftime Walk'.

She has 'Anesthesia', 'Equals' (co-starring Nicholas Hoult) and 'American Ultra' being released this year along with 'Clouds of Sils Maria' finally hitting American theaters this Friday in limited release. 

Her charitable work continued when she participated in Maria Shriver's Alzhiemer's awareness campaign and then returned as Karl Lagerfeld's muse for his new handbag and eye wear campaign for Chanel.

Only a quarter of a century old and Kristen is showing no signs of slowing down with approximately 30 films or more under her young belt and a directing cred to boot. It is clear that Kristen has a lot more to give with her post-Twilight career while leaving fans excited for more. 

Speaking of Twilight, she is still set to judge the Twilight Storytellers competition for the next generation of Twilight films. Whew...again!

KRISTEN STEWART JOINS JESSE EISENBERG AND BRUCE WILLIS IN UNTITLED WOODY ALLEN FILM

Deadline reports that Kristen Stewart, Jesse Eisenberg and Bruce Willis will star in an untitled Woody Allen film. Allen will not confirm.

"Allen might be the one director who, when he courts talent, doesn’t really show them a script. Everybody wants to work with him and they consider themselves lucky to be asked and if they’re available, they say yes almost always."

This will be the third collaboration between Stewart and Eisenberg.  Both starred in 2009's cult classic 'Adventureland' and will be seen in 'American Ultra' set to release this year.

KRISTEN STEWART JOINS LAURA DERN AND MICHELLE WILLIAMS IN NEW DRAMA

Stewart has officially come off her self-imposed break by signing on to join Oscar nominees Laura Dern (Wild/Jurassic Park) and Michelle Williams (Oz the Great and Powerful) in an untitled drama written and directed by Kelly Reichardt, according to Deadline.

"Reichardt most recently directed 'Night Moves' with Jesse Eisenberg and Dakota Fanning." (Variety)

Stewart will play a lawyer from Boise, Idaho who tries to prove herself as a teacher. She develops a friendship with Jamie who is auditing her class. 

Others cast are Jared Harris (Mad Men), James Le Gros Enemy of the State) and new comer Sara Rodier.

The filming will take place in the midwest Big Sky country. 

Laura Dern will not be the first time Stewart has been with a Dern onscreen.  Stewart starred with her Oscar nominated father Bruce Dern in 2007's 'The Cake Eaters'. 

Bruce spoke highly of the young Stewart at the time where he praised her talent calling her a "one of a kinder."  Check out what he says in the video below.

FORBES' MENDELSON CALLS FOR KRISTEN STEWART TO "SMACK THE BOX OFFICE TAR" OUT OF SWATH PRE-QUEL

There have been lots of opinions about the unceremonious removal of Snow White from what should have been the sequel to Snow White and the Huntsman, but Forbes' Scott Mendelson has taken it to another level.  He is calling for a box office smack down by placing Stewart in another franchise and scheduling the film up against 'The Huntsman'. 

Instead of summarizing what he said, here it is in his own words:

"In yet another case of a seemingly inevitable reboot, MGM and Warner Bros. are teaming up to revive the Tomb Raider franchise. The Deadline story reports what should have been predicted, that the new franchise will focus on a “younger” Lara Croft and Angelina Jolie has better things to do than try to make her own variation on Never Say Never Again. Obviously the various executives involved are hoping for something akin to Hunger Games meets Indiana Jones meets (depending on the reliance on sci-fi gadgets) Alias. Considering how few female-centric action vehicles get made in Hollywood, I imagine every actress between the ages of 14 and 32 are going to be going for this. Offhand, aside from Gugu Mbatha-Raw getting her own high profile action franchise (if Gina Prince-Bythewood wants to direct, more power to her), I’d love to see Warner cast Kristen Stewart as the new Lara Croft, schedule the film right on top of The Huntsman and (all due respect to all parties) watch Stewart’s feverish fanbase smack the box office tar out of the “Snow White sequel sans Snow White” picture. But in all seriousness, there is something a little sad about the notion of a second Tomb Raider franchise still qualifying as a big deal purely because of the sheer lack of big-scale female-centric franchises. It would seem that the only way we’re getting more diverse franchises is by virtue of Hollywood rebooting the (comparatively) more diverse franchises of yesteryear."

Mendelson continues:

"Clickbait headlines aside, I am not kidding about Kristen Stewart theoretically playing Lara Croft in the new Tomb Raider film. The woman has been on a critical roll lately (Camp X-Ray, Still Alice, and Clouds of Sils Maria, for which she just became the first American actress to win a Ca esar award) and I still think she is a huge reason why Snow White and the Huntsman opened to $55 million in the summer of 2012. I am not sure if she can pull off the character, but frankly I kinda like not knowing (it’s why I would prefer a new Indiana Jones a little less predictable than the obviously capable Chris Pratt). Emily Blunt could do it in her sleep and Gugu Mbatha-Raw would be the outside-the-box “Take this movie seriously!” pick (that both are actually British helps), but in terms of box office clout, an automatic fan base, and a deluge of constant free media coverage, well, I think Ms. Stewart getting another high-profile action franchise would be karmic payback for being preemptively removed from the Snow White franchise that she birthed in the first place."


You have to hand it to Mendelson for saying out loud what others have been saying quietly. 

But seriously, would Stewart's fans like to see her in a rebooted Lara Croft franchise or rather heating up the screen in a Marvel/DC film? Probably the latter. 

There is no need to throw fuel on the fire by placing any film of hers up against 'The Huntsman'.  It would only make the entertainment and gossip sites happy to relish in making money off the competition. And quite frankly, anything she does should stand solely on its own and succeed without any connection to 'The Huntsman'. 

You have to admit, for any studio to do it would be pretty ballsy.

KRISTEN STEWART SHOWS HUMOROUS DISBELIEF IN HER OFFICIAL CESAR PORTRAIT

The French Academy revealed the official winner portraits for the Cesar award.  Kristen Stewart who made history being the first American actress to win the prestigious French Oscar shows humorous disbelief in one of her photos (see below).

Stewart won Best Supporting Actress for her role in 'Clouds of Sils Maria' playing the assistant for the aging actresses played by Juliette Binoche. 

The US will finally be able to see 'Sils Maria' this April 10th.

KRISTEN STEWART MAKES HISTORY BEING THE FIRST AMERICAN ACTRESS TO WIN FRANCE'S CESAR AWARD

Stewart now stands among firsts. The first man to walk on the moon. The first to discover how to turn straw into bricks. The first person to win a Jeopardy championship. Whatever the first is...she will always be the first at what she achieved tonight in film history. 

There will be time to sit back and eat up every interview and every photo taken at every angle to celebrate what was witnessed in that audience, on television or online. But for now there is a need to reflect on what happened. 

History was made tonight. Film history, American history, world history...history was made. 

It is not easy to get the prestigious Cesar Award which is France's equivalent to the American Oscar.  If it was, she wouldn't be the first. Kristen Stewart made history twice by not only being the first American actress in 30 years to receive a nomination, but the first to win it.

KRISTEN STEWART RECEIVES A FRANCE CESAR BEST SUPPORTING NOMINATION FOR HER WORK IN 'CLOUDS OF SILS MARIA'

Nominations for the 40th Annual Cesar Awards by France's Academy of Cinema Arts were released and Kristen Stewart received a Best Supporting Actress nomination for her work as Valentine in 'Clouds of Sils Maria', according to the Hollywood Reporter. 

The Cesar is the French equivalent of the Oscars.

Other nominees for Best Supporting Actress are: 
Marianne Denicourt for 'Hippocrates', Claude Gensac for 'Lulu in the Nude', Izia Higelin for 'Samba' and Charlotte Le Bon for 'Yves Saint Laurent'.


'Clouds of Sils Maria' received a total of 6 nominations for Best Film, Best Director and Best Original Screenplay (Olivier Assayas), Best Actress (Juliette Binoche) and Best Photography (Yorik Le Saux).

Sean Penn who directed Stewart in 'Into the Wild' will be receiving the Honorary Cesar. Prior recipients have been Meryl Streep, Kevin Kostner, Dustin Hoffman, Scarlett Johnasson and Kate Winslet.

KRISTEN STEWART IS ONE OF THREE LAGERFELD MUSES TO LEAD NEW CHANEL SPRING-FALL HANDBAG AD CAMPAIGN

There may have been a Kardashian or two in the house, but Kristen Stewart stole the show.  

Chanel announced Kristen Stewart along with British model Alice Dellal and French actress Vanessa Paradis will be the faces of the new Chanel Spring-Fall handbag ad campaign. All three ladies are lauded to be the muses of Chanel's house of haute couture artistic director and legendary fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld.

This will be Stewart's second campaign for the brand when she was the face of Largerfeld's Metier d'art Paris Dallas collection last year. 

Stewart attended the Chanel show during the Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week on Tuesday with a front row view where she watched the latest creations of Lagerfeld. 

Stewart has been on a holiday from acting since she finished filming 'Equals' with Nicholas Hoult in the fall. However, she has continued her promotional duties with several films being released this year beginning with 'Still Alice'.  

In a recent interview with Yahoo Movies, Stewart said she loved the Marvel films and would be interested in doing one if the project was right for her. 

Who knows what is next for Stewart, however anything is possible.
