SWATH Producer Palak Patel sent out a few tweets today as usual and one in particular was timely. The Hollywood Reporter just posted an article providing an update regarding the Disney version of 'Snow White'. THR cleared up the confusion because there are not three 'Snow White' movies, only two. Here's how:
THR explains that the Disney version which is named 'The Order of Seven' , concentrates specifically on the dwarfs and not 'Snow White'. The dwarfs in the Disney movie, according to THR, will be "... a 19th century-set disparate band of international warriors belonging to a centuries-old order who have lost their way. Their meeting with an Englishwoman being chased by an ancient evil is the catalyst for their redemption."
Uh, no 'Snow White' leading the way.
THR further states that this movie now has a director, Michael Gracey, who is a "commercial and visual effects wizard". Furthermore, THR reports that the movie will be set in China.
Disney's project is a far cry from anything Disney has done in the past and it is not at all the "third Snow White movie". Producer Patel confirms this via Twitter by stating "There's no Snow White in their story".
So SWATH fans, the only other "Snow White" film is by Relativity. SWATH is completely different from anything their movie is about. Rest easy, Kristen Stewart will be the first "kick ass" 'Snow White' in history and anticipation is definitely building.
Patel has kindly responded to one of our inquiries regarding Sam Claflin and his completion of his current movie 'White Heat'. Patel tweeted that Claflin is "almost done". He further stated that SWATH will be rated PG-13 and it will not be in 3D.
We cannot wait for the Prince and the Huntsman to get on set full time. Principal photography begins August 15th.
