The Kansas City Star obtained a brief quote from Jones:
Toby Jones, who plays game announcer Claudius Templesmith: “He’s somewhat cynical. It’s a great character to play because it’s such a bleak world view.” The British actor says he imitated American football commentators. “It’s the constant chatter, indifferent to the human drama, just the strategy.”
Here is one from Liam where he talks about his accent:
Liam Hemsworth, who plays Katniss’ friend Gale: The Aussie actor (who was accompanied by girlfriend Miley Cyrus) had to adopt an American accent for the role. “I did a lot of work with accent coaches, watched American TV and American movies. But yeah, it takes a bit of work. Every now and then there’ll be a word that will be hard to put in my mouth. You really have to work on it, be mindful of it.”
Unlike some of his cast mates, Hemsworth says he didn’t mind the hot, humid North Carolina summers, when much of the film was shot. “It was summertime, and we were out in middle of nowhere in the woods. I like being outdoors in the heat in the summer. It wasn’t too much to complain about.”
