TOBY JONES & UNIVERSAL'S LES MISERABLES GET 
GOLDEN GLOBE NOMINATIONS!

(HBO) Toby Jones & Sienna Miller 

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced its nominees for their 75th Golden Globe ceremony this morning and it was a big day for SWATH's Toby Jones and Universal Studios. 

Jones received a nomination for the Best Performance by an Actor in a MiniSeries or a Motion Picture Made for Television for his portrayal of the infamous and legendary director Alfred Hitcock in the HBO movie called The Girl.  

His co-star Sienna Miller received the Best Actress nod in the same category for her portrayal of actress Tippie Hedren and The Girl received a nomination for Best Miniseries or Television Movie. 

The Girl, tells the story of the volatile relationship between Hitchcock and Hedren who starred in the Hitchcock/Universal films The Birds and Marnie.

KRISTEN STEWART APPEARS AT THE  121212 CONCERT FOR SANDY RELIEF

Kristen Stewart attended one of the biggest concert fund raisers in history tonight.  The Concert for Sandy Relief featured some of the biggest stars from all over the world. 

Stewart who was introduced by comedian/actor Billy Crystal spoke about the effect of the hurricane from the perspective of the statistical data then introduced a clip of Jon Bon Jovi talking about the devastation of his home town.  After the clip, she then introduced the rock group Bon Jovi who performed. The worldwide broadcast was constructed to raise funds for those effected by one of the worst hurricane storms to hit the east coast of the United States in years.  The storm destroyed the coastline and towns from New Jersey to New York and effected the other east coast cities as far south as Virginia to as north as Canada. 

The event featured many stars who either reside and/or grew up in the areas effected by the storm. NBC News Anchor Brian Williams a native from New Jersey who grew up at the Jersey shore spoke with actor Ben Stiller who spoke about how the storm effected his New York neighborhood where he resides.   

New York natives and associated entertainers which included what appeared to be the entire cast of The Sopranos were seen taking phone calls. Whoopie Goldberg,  P Diddy, Bruce Springsteen and Kanye West were just a few of the stars who either performed or participated in the concert. 

The concert began at 7:30 ET and was to last until 12am ET broadcast on television and radio stations around the world.

KRISTEN STEWART TO HELP WITH HISTORIC STAR-STUDDED 12-12-12 HURRICANE SANDY CONCERT EVENT

Kristen Stewart along with a large list of stars in entertainment will perform to raise money for the victims of Hurricane Sandy.  The Concert for Sandy Relief is being touted as "the mega concert" which will "be the largest distributed live musical event in history," according to The Examiner.

The concert will be broadcast worldwide beginning at 7:30 pm ET.  Click here for the time and broadcast location in your area. 

Stars such as Alicia Keys, New Jersey natives Bon Jovi & Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, Eric Clapton and Sir Paul McCartney will be performing.  It will have one of the largest participation of broadcasting networks in the world.

"Thirty-seven American television networks, including NBC, HBO, Showtime and NJTV, will stream the show. Sirius SX satellite radio and all Clear Channel radio stations in the metropolitan area, including Z100, Power 105.1, Q104.3, and 103.5 WKTU, will broadcast the concert." ~ Newark Star Ledger

'BREATH OF LIFE' & 'GONE' MAKE THE OSCAR LIST 
OF ELIGIBLE SONGS

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences released their list of 75 songs eligible for the Original Song category for the 85th Academy Awards®.  SWATH has two potential songs that can be considered for an Oscar nod.

Florence and the Machine's 'Breath of Life' and 'Gone' by Jonanna Gika. Johnny Harris gets a "featured" nod on 'Gone' since he performed it in the film as well at least in our opinion.

"To be eligible, a song must consist of words and music, both of which are original and written specifically for the film. A clearly audible, intelligible, substantive rendition of both lyric and melody must be used in the body of the film or as the first music cue in the end credits."

'Breath of Life' was featured in the end credits and 'Gone' was used in the body of the film.

The Oscars will premiere live from LA on Sunday, February 24, 2013 on ABC (US).  The nominations will be announced live Thursday, January 10, 2013, at 8:30 a.m. EST/5:30 a.m. PST.
