UNIVERSAL DITCHING KRISTEN STEWART'S 'SNOW WHITE'?

Universal

Collider reported it and CinemaBlend is basking in it's glory that SWATH will be the last fans see of Kristen Stewart's 'Snow White' as the franchise will be turned over to Chris Hemsworth's Huntsman.

Collider reported a candid interview with NBC Universal Studios President Ron Meyer where he spoke about movies. Based upon what Collider is reporting, Kristen Stewart's Snow White will not be the future of the SWATH franchise.

"Universal is prepared to build future movies around Chris Hemsworth’s Huntsman character if the movie proves successful.   Although the Huntsman is part of the title, Hemsworth has been more or less left out of the marketing for the picture, leaving Kristen Stewart’s Snow White to battle it out with Charlize Theron’s Queen Ravenna," writes Collider.

A direct quote of what Meyer exactly said was not provided, but further clarification is needed. Does this mean that Universal is removing Kristen Stewart's 'Snow White' character altogether?  Will Snow White be an integral part of any sequel or left totally left out to focus in on Hemsworth's Huntsman because of his rising start status?

CinemaBlend goes further, "Hemsworth likely is in for a blockbuster summer. He’ll kick-start the season playing Thor as part of Joss Whedon’s The Avengers, and then has Huntsman out on June 1. It’s interesting how we spilled so much “ink” on the battle between rival Snow White movies, yet Mirror Mirror only has made $36.4 million to date. Huntsman could pass that mark during its opening weekend, if it’s as good as Meyer leads us to believe. And if it’s great, Hemsworth could have two major franchises on his hands … a good problem for a young actor on the rise."

CinemaBlend may want to check out a movie called 'On the Road' which boasts an A-list cast and has the potential of being shown at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival; or maybe a little movie called 'Breaking Dawn Part 2'.  These films appear to have the potential for someone to have a pretty good year at the box office as well.

Is this a good thing to know before SWATH opens that Stewart's 'Snow White' has no future?  How will Kristen Stewart's fans feel about her 'Snow White' being pushed aside?

Or, could Universal be indicating that the "Snow White story" has ended and the franchise will continue with the Huntsman's story. However, not necessarily stating that Snow White will not exist as a major player in the franchise?

Collider was there at the interview and if what they are writing holds true, Snow White's reign has ended with SWATH.

Either way, more clarification is needed.  Hopefully soon.  Let us know what you think in the comment section, or on Twitter or on our Facebook page.
